Welcome to the latest edition of America speaks right here on straight arrow news. I’m Dr Frank Luntz, and the topic is foreign policy, and the specific area is President Trump himself.
So the way that I want to do this, as you can see, we’re representing all of America here. This is an incredibly national and diverse group of people. I want you to give me a single sentence to describe Donald Trump’s foreign policy, not his overall presidency. I don’t care whether or not you voted for him. I just want you to speak about his role in The Globe. Well, unfortunately, I think he’s alienated, did us from most of our allies, and I think he’s pretty much of an embarrassment for our country right now. Eddie Europe,
dealmaker, proactive
and wanting, apparently, to put an end to all the war. So he’s doing a great job in foreign policy. He’s not embarrassing America. Lisa, you’re up. Simply put, he truly wants to make America great again. Jay,
sweet talk, who’s more of himself than America?
Adele,
idiotic and embarrassing. Mike, unadulteratedly self serving. Joe,
unprecedented. Art of the Deal, America first. Make America Great Again. Mark, I think he’s doing absolutely excellent job from stopping other countries from screwing us. Julia,
as Reagan said, peace through strength.
Patrick, your opinion, in a sense of Donald Trump’s foreign policy, totally transparent and delivering on the promises he made during the campaign. Renee
a lot of talk and a lot of fluff.
Brett Trump’s dictating terms that are best for America.
Thomas can’t unravel Biden’s failed policies fast enough.
Go. Pray. I feel he was very uneducated on what foreign policy is and how to
do the deal, because he keeps he doesn’t negotiate. He just gives up and keeps giving in
Santiago, he’s putting America first.
Don’t remember ever in the work that I’ve done,
a more divided discussion of foreign policy than what we have right here. And Capri, I’m going to go to you because you’re making gestures that I can see after every answer of every question. Sorry. I don’t want to know. No, it’s nothing to apologize for, but I want to know why that it used to be that we would have a conversation and we would agree to disagree, but you are so
committed to your point of view that you’re showing your reactions to everything. Why is that I I have been following. I have never been to politics in my life, until Trump. And I have been following everything he’s been doing, and I’ve been following the receipts. And Trump doesn’t understand policies. You know, they had him an executive order. He just signs it like, what is this? What is this? You know, it’s all about him with in getting rich. It’s all He keeps talking about is,
oh, it’s gonna make America rich again. Money, money, money, money. You know, he doesn’t talk about anything more than money.
On the other side, Joe, you make facial expressions too, and I know that you’re supportive of the president. Why do you find it necessary to do so?
Donald Trump is the master negotiator, the art of the deal, the best book I ever read. I learned a lot, and I use that daily in my own life, and I prosper. He didn’t even write it. He’s looking, oh, he should.
He’s looking out for America, and it’s about time we have a president America first. Amen. Brother, amen. Amen. Period, period.
I know that, Jay, you don’t think so.
I mean, I can’t see how somebody can like somebody and claim they amass to negotiate. To me, that almost screams that they’re hypnotizing people. They’re hidden signs in the world, hypnotizing whatever side. Like I would never put the word negotiator in life of anybody out there, because that just means to me that they’re hypnotizing what they want us, whether you’re Republican or Democrat, to believe that’s that’s mind boggling.
Hmm. So let’s ask the question, are we stronger today than we were under Joe Biden,
absolutely,
in terms of foreign policy. Are we stronger or less strong? Anyone? Go ahead
and one of the reasons it’s strong it’s stronger now is because actually, Biden had a lot of his lackeys actually doing the work for him, and really didn’t even understand what was going on. It really goes to who was running the country. I don’t know. Amen, greed. Amy, are we stronger or less strong in foreign policy under Donald Trump? Well, I’ll say this much. We had allies.
The world had our back, and we had that
did us a lot of the whole world. Oh yeah, the world had our back. So much good.
World came to my rescue.
We went there. When did the world come to our rescue that we needed rescuing? 911,
we fed the checkbook out for over 200 years. It’s not America back. We didn’t. When did anybody came over United States when we had a problem? When exactly,
I
could have sworn we got help in California with the fires from different countries, Mexico, Canada. Oh, wow, thank goodness. Because California is such a small economy, we need Mexico to help us all political none, yeah, I can’t. You just ask for Eddie. You just asked for an example. That’s all right, and that’s, yeah, okay, Mexico saved us. Well, no, no, no, I can’t help, I can’t, I can’t I understand what you’re saying. Eddie, you just asked for an example. That’s
all good job. Brett, but yeah, that’s, that’s a bad example. How about that? Okay, it’s all personal mark. Go ahead.
What can you repeat the question? Frank, yes, Are we better off now in terms of foreign policy with Donald Trump, or were things better under Joe Biden? Absolutely. We’re better under Donald Trump because we’re we’re actually leading. We’re not leading from behind like Obama and Biden did. We’re actually leading from in front. I mean, Trump’s not going to take any crap from people anymore. And basically, the United States, under Biden, and even under Obama, was basically taking crap from all these other countries, and we’re not going to do that anymore. We’re going to stop other countries from screwing us, and we’re not going to take their crap anymore. And so we’re going to lead from in front instead of behind. And I’m going to emphasize one last time I don’t care about anything else, except for foreign policy. Let’s stay on that issue,
Santiago, Europe. Here’s why I believe that, and from what I’m seeing on the world stage, why we’re better off and stronger. You see countries that are closer to us, El Salvador Ecuador, my wife is a legal immigrant. Came here legally, their president. Now, Trump supporter likes the policies you have. The President of Argentina. You’re looking at all these other countries from South America that are trying to imitate some of the policies that Trump has, and it’s working for them, right? And, and we’re here talking about, we don’t have allies. We have a lot of allies. I don’t know where we keep getting this notion that we don’t have allies. So, yeah, I think, I think we’re a lot stronger than we were, and at least we can tell that. You know, there’s a goal in mind. We want to make sure America is strong. We want to make sure America is safe. I just mentioned a couple. I just mentioned a couple. I mean, I don’t know if you’re not hearing me correctly. I mentioned a couple. Argentina, El Salvador, Ecuador. I mean, I can go down a whole list of different countries, all of these. So now you have an issue with South America. You didn’t, hold on, hold on, Eddie, you had you had an issue when someone said something about Mexico. By the way, I’m half Mexican, half Cuban, but now you have an issue because it doesn’t fit your narrative. It’s a problem. When, when, when, when. I’m telling you what some of our allies who they are, and because they’re in South America, it’s an issue. Now, I just thought, was that an issue?
But what Trump goes after South America then, before having ally, because he will, He’s working his way around the globe
because he’s because there’s an issue with immigration. Is there? Is there a problem? I mean, the sovereign country, he’s got
another white let me ask you a question. Have you ever been to the border of Guatemala and Mexico? Not Guatemala? You know how bad Mexicans treat Guatemalans when they’re crossing over that border? They shoot them. Do you know there’s a huge wall there? I mean, I hate to bring down this facade that people have going on. Okay with America? How.
Being a border. Okay, do you know how it feels that you’re walking down into a university where you can potentially be sending your kids, and you’re hearing people burning American flags, chanting Death to America, import them the hell out of the United States. I’m sorry you don’t like us here, then go home. It’s that simple. You know, I’m Hispanic. I don’t get offended by that. Yeah, and don’t put words in my don’t put words in my mouth. I have no problem with Mexicans. I’m saying it was pure propaganda optics. Bringing Mexicans from Mexico over to help with the fires. Three weeks was over.
BS, I don’t care if they came from Norway, that was BS, it’s got nothing to do with race, so don’t pull that crap with me. It was about country, not race. We were talking about he was bringing up race. He was doing it.
Thomas Europe.
What I think is interesting about the foreign policy is that he seems to be picking key actors in different theaters, Japan, China. I’m curious what the relationship will be with India, because India definitely has the potential to overtake China long term, the deals with Saudi Arabia, like he seems. And let’s be honest, the hardest working person, I think, in the administration is Rubio. I think he’s burning them out, but he’s doing a great job like I’m curious to see long term, if they can sustain that momentum after four months with all these other countries, but it is interesting to see which countries they’re focusing on initially in The first four months.
Let’s try to do that right now. I’m gonna ask every single one of you one sentence to describe Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Only secretary of state one sentence, Brett, you’re first I think he’s a good fit for Secretary of State because, because he’s been around politics, and he knows the drill. He’s a lot smarter than people give him credit for, and I think he’s a pretty darn smart guy that can get negotiations done, or at least come to a bargaining point. Santiago, your opinion of Marco Rubio in one sentence,
I think he’s, I think he’s doing an amazing job, probably one of the best secretaries of states that we’ve had. And I think he’s also being set up to probably take over the Maga, the Maga movement, between him and JD Vance Thomas, one sense to describe Rubio. Rubio is the policies without the personality. So if people don’t like the personality of the person, we won’t talk about Marco and his efforts really synthesize the policies in a way that Trump really can’t. Patrick is sentenced to describe Rubio as Secretary of State knowledgeable about all the different nations, and is strong, very strong mark. Think he’s doing a great job under the direction of Donald Trump. Joe, he got over the little Marco comment, he’s doing a great job. He’s experienced, and I think he’ll do outstanding. So great. I think he’s just the puppet in the theater of Trump.
Renee
sharp sister,
the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s just in the wrong shed.
Wow.
I agree with Renee. I don’t think I could say that any better I did
gay.
He’s a pair of clippers. That’s not clipping.
I think he taught me
Amy. I agree with Renee. I think that was perfectly you need to go into writing girlfriend. He’s the shark, he’s he’s He’s smart, he’s just not in the right place. I doubt
he is completely, completely under Trump’s thumb. So you know, all I’m gonna hear is whatever Trump says in that weird way that he says it. That’s it, Eddie, he’s effective, and he’s not concerned about the, you know, the politics of being politically correct. He’s no nonsense getting the job done. Lisa, he’s very smart and experienced, and if you back him into a corner, he can explicitly talk his way out with facts and experience. Mike, I think he’s one of the most qualified choices that Trump made. Julia, I think he’s intelligent and relentless as far as trying to check off the bullet points that America wants. Yeah.
What is Donald Trump’s greatest success? And I will then ask you, what is his greatest failure? Mark as a Trump supporter, what do you pinpoint specifically that you like the most about his foreign policy?
The specific thing I like about his foreign policy, as I said, he doesn’t take crap, you know? He doesn’t let other countries screw us. And I think that is most evident in terms of his immigration policy.
Julia, yeah, I agree with that. I definitely think his immigration policy and how it relates to some of our countries in the southern hemisphere, I believe, has been his greatest success so far, Thomas, what is Donald Trump’s greatest success been
four months. He figured out the border and immigration when Biden couldn’t do it in four years. The failure is and I like Trump, but he can’t help but make everything about himself, and that will, that will be his downfall long term, when he sticks to the policies, he’s very good, but when he always pivots back to himself, it loses momentum. Amy, what is Donald Trump’s greatest failure in foreign policy?
Probably disabling, I’m going to say it again, probably disabling ties with all our allies.
Is there anything in particular that bothers you most about that? Yeah, you know, I’m going back to I’m going back years and years and years when we had, we had strong ties with Europe, with with, with all the Western European countries. We don’t anymore. They are. They’re all laughing at us, you die. Just didn’t want to hear this. I tried to tell you about a specific personal experience. I was walking the El Camino in Spain at the during the election, and I was the only American, and when I came out on the trail, everybody in Spain said, How could America be so stupid? Nobody, everyone’s laughing at us right now on, not true. Yeah. Sorry. Didn’t get that from CNN Eddie. Got it from the polling papers on the El Camino in Spain. That great representation.
You lose credibility. Amy, when you say everyone is laughing, you can’t make that statement. It’s not accurate. That’s what happened. That’s an over generalization. And you know it, come on, over
generalization. Not
there. No everyone. You said, Everyone is laughing, everyone,
9 billion people on
laughing. You got to stop.
Was there? Okay, wow, and say it that way. Don’t say everyone that accounts for the entire European continent now, everyone on the in Spain who was on that camino.
Now, you’re qualified. That’s a different state. Hold on, come on.
I’m gonna ask this question, and I love the fact that we’re rolling and this is gonna be unedited, and it’s the only time you can actually see unedited focus groups anywhere on the web.
Y’all are going at Amy,
and you’re going at her not just to disagree with her, but to discredit her.
And again, this is something that I’ve not seen until the last few years.
Why is it so important to challenge her in that way? Because you’re not just disagreeing,
you’re trying to dehumanize. It’s not a Gemini Frank. People have a right to have an opinion that’s not pro Trump, yeah, but when they do these generalizations, I’ve I’ve been very measured about my comments about the president, but when I hear people nothing but critical, can’t say anything positive, that tells me that they don’t have a real world view about what goes on in the world, because you can say Trump is 100% correct, and you can’t say he’s 100% incorrect. You can’t it’s not accurate, and it’s not fair. People wouldn’t want anybody to say that about them and their personal or professional life, but somehow they think they can get away with it with Trump. It’s not accurate.
You
do. Thank you. You asked me the the one, and I said, gave you one example, the one thing that I see that he that is the the hardest thing.
To watch is that he’s severed ties with our allies,
and that’s the one thing. And all of the same people who are going after me are going after it’s, it’s like, like I said, it’s being it’s, they’re going after Renee, they’re going after Adele, they’re all going out and they’re going after Capri all of the same people are going after the same people. It’s like, okay,
generalization out
of
Trump’s playbook. That’s what he does.
Is not dehumanizing, right?
Inaccuracies, no, but that’s if
he can’t get you another way, then he starts making fun of you. Little Marco, I think that was brought up here.
Problem with that he treats our allies abominably. Did you see what he did with Zielinski. We are not operating on reality TV here. We are supposed to be acting like adults.
I
don’t even understand that he started with making fun of his clothes. The man has been in a war for years. He the last
cross dresser who wears a green shirt. Oh, my, the
whole world has been screwing America forever.
Hilarious people with respect. You’re not supposed to turn around, for example, and call Canada our 51st state. And you know, oh, maybe you’re, it will be, it will be the 51st state. It will not Calgary, really well, referendum, and there’s a possibility they want to vote to be part of our country. You knew that, right? Is there a question that’s on the table right now with Calgary? Right? I’ll answer that now, but I’m gonna be honest with you. It’s not going to happen. You
have Greenland, Greenland, Greenland’s on the next
definitely as a referendum right now, on the books, we can have anything they’re going to vote
on it
words. But this is the problem with Trump right there, and this is it has infected everyone. So no one, anybody who speaks against this guy, I gotta hear all of these can’t infect you. Have we’re being criticized for dehumanizing. Least we’re being dehumanizing. Amy, but why is this group? Why are members of this group dehumanizing Trump? Is what my question is. He’s not human. It’s it’s not, it’s not a dehumanizing thing that was he has made our country fractured and it started
all crap. Hold on.
Stop. Stop, not. Stop, stop.
One of you did say, and I want to know who it was, because you’re guilty of doing it. Trump is not human.
Is that really appropriate? Capri is that appropriate to say something that strong,
that insulting, that abusive about the President of the United States.
Think so. I don’t take back my words, because the man has no empathy. He has no sympathy. All he cares about is dollar sign and he doesn’t care about people. Total crap, robot photo right? But why can’t you say that, Capri without saying he’s not human? Because that’s how I feel. And Frank, well, maybe she feels like that when he said that the Haitian people ate the dogs, I don’t see anybody in the uproar about that. Yeah, so she did it. He asked her,
they did that’s the truth. It your
original question was, patients don’t even this before, but what we’ve never had before was Trump derangement syndrome. Exactly, I remembered your initial question about 20 minutes ago was, you’ve never seen this before, but we never had trump the Ranger syndrome. Well, you never
called. You never had any type of ridiculousness like this before. No social media for you to agree with a man who’ll talk about another man’s attire a set of the topic, I see why you follow him. You know, I already said he’s got, he’s got no sharp tools in the shed. But that one and that, because they came on, they look good. I mean, I just someone’s been drinking the Trump arrangement syndrome kool aid here. You know, come
on.
Can I just get back to initially? I.
What you had asked about. Why are, you know, why are we, or whoever is talking about, you know, Amy or something like that. I mean, the one thing that got me as soon as we got on this call, I can’t remember, somebody made some comment about Trump and Amy actually scoffed about it. This is what is so annoying as a Trump supporter and a conservative, is the fact that, you know, I’m not allowed to have my opinion as soon as, as soon as we talk about another, you know, the President, somebody else acts like we’re, you know, totally not intelligent. And it’s just very frustrating. It gets very frustrating. I think that’s why so many of the Trump supporters now feel like we actually have the ability to speak our mind. And maybe that’s why we’re trying to prove that, yeah, that that they’re wrong. Imagine how we feel listening to him. And here’s another good thing,
getting getting rid of this. Dei sorry, did I say
stupid?
Was very rude. I didn’t say anything. I rolled my
eyes. Policy, getting back to foreign policy. Yeah, the allies that we have alienated and have turned our backs on. I’m not saying all of our allies
have turned our backs on. What? Yeah, World War Three started and we were attacked. Where are allies? Are we predicting the future again? Are we predicting
the future? I’ll go get
Michael. Glory.
Okay, as a way to close this, because we’re out of time, I want you to give Donald Trump one piece of advice, what he should do in terms of foreign policy and Mark, I’m going to start with you. I say Donald Trump, you’re doing an excellent job. Continue doing what you’re doing. Julia, I would tell him to emulate little Marco
Amy.
Learn to get along with others. Learn to play nice with others, please, please rebuild our strong relationships.
Eddie,
keep doing what you started in 2016
and not have countries screw us by we’re paying for everything in NATO. And get rid of the whole gift thing with, you know, the airplane. So stick with America not paying for the rest of the world. Lisa,
keep doing what you’re doing. Pray and ask God to inspire you in your actions. Mike, take a win when you get a win and walk off the field. Adele,
treat people with the same respect that you want to be treated at all times. Joe, thank you President Trump, and thank you for putting America first. Patrick,
more diplomacy and be fair and treat people fairly and get and get the same respect in return. Renee, make America proud again.
Brett,
continue what you’re doing, but consider the human element.
Santiago,
lean on your Secretary of State and keep up the work that you’re doing.
Go great.
Stop
trying to be buddy buddy with the dictators of the world like Kim Jong da, I guess he said, and Russia’s President Putin, you know, Thomas, there’s bring peace and don’t take the plane. Well, this was an awesome conversation, very emotional, very divided, but you got to hear what real Americans really think about very, very important issues. So on behalf of all the people here at America, speaks on straight arrow news. I’m Dr Frank Luntz, please come back again for another conversation and another opportunity, a unique opportunity to hear what Americans truly think you.
